Bishop Dr. Betty L. Brown, Chair: NATIONAL WOMEN'S MINISTRY
International Mother Betty L. Brown is a woman whose dedication, service, devotion to Christian ministry, and soul-winning are a tribute to her work in the ministry. Her church history dates back to her early childhood when at the age of twelve she received the Lord as her personal savior at the Fairmount Baptist Church in Amherst, Virginia. Later, after moving to the state of New Jersey, she received the Holy Ghost at Mount Zion Fire Baptized Holiness Church of God of the Americas in Elizabeth, New Jersey. During her years there she worked under the instruction and tutelage of the late Pastor and mentor Reverend Minerva Steele.
Through the years, Mother Brown has served in many roles and she sets an exemplary record for all who observe or have the privilege of working with her. Before heeding her call to the ministry, she served in many offices and positions in the church. Included among these are those of usher, President of the Usher Board, Junior Pastor, Assistant Pastor, President of the Missionary Department, and District President of the Missionary Department of the Fire Baptized Holiness churches of New Jersey.
In 1986, and by now a seasoned minister, Mother Brown was sent out to pastor a church in Plainfield, New Jersey. There she established as founder and pastor, the St. John FBH Church of God of the Americas. Being led of God in 1994, Mother Brown and her congregation became affiliated with the Sounds of Praise Pentecostal Fellowship Ministries, Inc., Worldwide (of which she was on of the original founders) under the leadership of the late Bishop Nathaniel Simmons. She was appointed the International Mother, and comptroller of this organization, distinctions she continued to hold, until she was led of the Lord to become one of the founders of the United Fellowship of Christian Churches and Ministries, Inc. She serves faithfully as First Assistant to the Presiding Bishop and is a member of the Ecclesiastical Board of Presbyters and the Executive Staff, as well as a member of the UFCCM College of Bishops. Bishop Brown also serves as the Chairlady of the UFCCM Women's Ministry. She travels extensively, throughout the continental United States and the Caribbean preaching, teaching, and praying for the redemption of lost souls.
Bishop Brown is an anointed minister who's preaching and teaching has led innumerable souls to Christ. She is a scholar, teacher and mentor. She is well versed in the scriptures and has spent time in formal study with the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. In addition, she completed a four year Bible program at Liberty Home Institute located in Lynchburg, Virginia. She holds an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from the Full Gospel of Christ Institute in Richmond, Virginia.
She is unshakable in her apologetics and maintains the truth of the Word of God, that with God there is no respect of person (Galatians 3:23). She serves with distinction in her rightful position as a Bishop in our Lord's church. She is the Presiding Prelate of the Northeast Jurisdiction of the UFCCM, encompassing churches in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Maine.
Bishop Brown is the mother of three children, one of whom, her only daughter, is the wife of our Presiding Bishop. She is married to Deacon Wallace Brown, her husband of over 60 years. She and her husband reside in Willingboro, New Jersey.
We believe that this chosen woman has been sent forth for such an hour as this and pray her Godspeed in all of her labors for the Kingdom of the Living God.
